Dental Lasers

Because each laser is unique in the function it performs, we have 4 dental lasers, each providing a specific service.

The DIAGNOdent is a laser cavity detection system which scans your teeth with harmless laser light searching for hidden decay.  The DIAGNOdent allows for Drs. Sokol and Boettcher to locate and diagnose hidden decay, and with treatment stop the spread of disease before it destroys the tooth from within.  This new technology is completely safe and free of any discomfort.  

ER/YAG is a laser designed to perform cavity preparation and removal as well as minor gum surgery.  Unlike the dental drill, this laser can be used with minimal or no anesthetic.  Fillings can be performed with little or no discomfort and faster recovery.

CO2 and Diode are two soft tissue lasers designed for gum periodontal therapy.  They are used to sterilize gum infections common in periodontal gum disease, and cosmetic gum recontouring for more pleasing, less “gummy” looking smiles.
